Unplugged

RSDFlex Unplugged

Unplugged is a K–5 home-based program designed for families who prefer an offline, paper-and-pencil learning environment while maintaining a flexible educational experience supported by one of our Redmond School District teacher.

  • Unplugged utilizes the Evan-Moor, All About Reading, Math with Confidence, and Math-U-See curriculum to provide structured, high-quality instruction in core subjects including English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

  • Although learning takes place at home, families are supported by our Redmond School District teachers who provide academic guidance, monitor progress, offer feedback, communicate regularly, and ensure alignment with grade-level standards.

  • Families provide a learning coach to support their student with the paper-and-pencil homeschool curriculum, along with accountability and progress monitoring. Families are expected to communicate weekly by submitting photos of student work, completing the attendance survey, and participating in bi-monthly meetings with our Unplugged teacher.

  • Optional in-person and virtual activities are offered throughout the week with same-grade peers to support social skill development. Flex also hosts field trips, parties, and fundraisers to help students stay connected and engaged.

  • Students receive personalized support in reading and math through i-Ready, which assesses learning levels, provides targeted lessons, tracks progress, and supports skill development. This blended approach combines strong offline instruction with adaptive digital learning.
